MOCAD

This Friday at MOCAD
One Night

10 sets of mannequin legs have been decorated by 10 artists for the shoe company Zuzatz for the launch of their new line of interchangeable flip-flops. Each set of legs has a different theme to show the different places the shoes can be worn.

Below are pictures of the legs I painted.
I chose the forest for my theme to showcase the snakeskin uppers.

Not fit to rule

Inspired by the truism "Most people are not fit to rule themselves."
I wanted the word monarch to represent both a king/ruler and the monarch butterfly.
Before the butterfly, the larvae feed on milkweed.

Actual size 5" x 7"
