A Candy Land Halloween

I'm posting this a little late, but I wanted to share my project for Halloween this year. At my office we dressed up for a little costume contest and the theme for the design team this year was Candy Land! After finding the base elements for my costume... the dress & crown (I was Princess Frostine), it was time to tackle the staff. It turned into a more involved project than I had ever imagined! Matthew and I brainstormed ideas as we rummaged through craft stores until we finally decided to really make it unique and tackle a new process for us..... Spray Foam! We were inspired by a blog written by an extremely talented girl who makes amazing costumes and uses this process for head pieces, parts of the outfit & props. I will add a link to her blog if I can find it again. We spent many hours the weekend before the big reveal spraying the foam & carving it into shape. After that I worked long into the following nights covering it in paper-mache, painting & detailing the snow. Here are the results...

Check out the rest of my costume & the talented team that I work with here!
